You begin to attempt to get ready, grab a little breakfast, take a shower when the moment allows and begin to put on some make up. Everything about life is still pretty new at this moment, routines are not quite routine and maybe (who am I kidding) they will be, a little all over the place.

A session is extremely relaxed, absolutely no forced posing and most importantly the session takes its pace from new little one and of course any siblings joining. There are never any assumptions from me that you will be fully ready when I arrive, this is real life and you are real human beings who are in the midst of a beautifully large adjustment. I fully expect to arrive in the midst of a feed or a change, siblings tearing around the house, that’s normality and it’s also what makes you, the family. And that, right there, is the other beauty why having a cosy lifestyle in-home newborn session could be the better option for you; normality and familiarity!
There I’ve said it, you can just be you, embrace your normal selfs within your normal familiar space and more often than not this is a perfect option for any siblings joining the session. They like or often respond well within familiarity and given all the changes going on around them, this can act like a small part of structure for them. So why not let them be their true selves within an environment that they feel comfortable within! Best of all, the way in which I structure in-home newborn sessions with siblings joining, I allow space for them to come and go. Create a sense of freedom for them, which more often they want to be apart of and with that, I can capture those beautiful moments that you are dreaming of capturing whist also allowing them the space to be their own little character.

A newborn photography session can capture your little one from 7 days old all the way to 3+ months.
There is never a right or wrong time to capture your little one, and you are never too late even if they are 3+ months, as they will never stop being your baby once they hit 3+ months old. They’ll still need you, they’ll still need feeding, rocking, loving, soothing and those firsts are still coming even after 3+ months. What they will be at this point is; more alert, their unique personality coming through, maybe their moving, crawling, perhaps the haze will have settled and you feel more at ease, a routine somewhat there, siblings will have had time to adjust. What I am saying is a cosy in-home photography session newborn or not, you’re never too late and they will always be personal to you and your family.
